The Talent-Centered Education Leadership Initiative hosts events that cultivate the space for public intelligence and dialogue concerning vital ideas on inclusion and talent-centered leadership that can be advanced by research, education, best practices, and conversation at the interdisciplinary seams that education and other social sciences share. We always welcome collaboration with scholars, community organizations and entities engaged in inclusion oriented work.

  • INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP PROFESSIONAL SYMPOSIUM

    The Inclusive Leadership Professional Symposium is developed specifically for new to mid-career higher education professionals and graduate students (at USC and all local colleges- Benedict, Allen, SC State, Winthrop, College of Charleston, and Clemson, to name a few). The goal of the symposium is to offer motivation and actionable strategies for professionals to develop as fearless, authentic, and activist-minded leaders in their respective fields. ILPS is a collaborative effort between the Talent-Centered Education Leadership Initiative within the College of Education and the Office of Graduate Diversity withing the Graduate School.

  • DIVISION L: EDUCATIONAL POLICY AND POLITICS

    This is a video of Dr. Henry Tran’s AERA Division L Diversity committee talk about how systemic human capacity inequity is sustained for rural schools and communities. Rural educator shortages is only part of the story.

  • AERA PRESIDENTIAL SESSION 2021

    This session will involve an introduction to TCELI; three related presentations on: a) the importance of administrative respect for teacher retention, b) Black women in higher education leadership, and c) barriers to diversity and inclusion for STEM faculty; and conclude with a panel discussion with experts across the country on how to create more inclusive education work settings for people of all backgrounds across the P-20 continuum.
